Product & Industrial Design

Architecting the Tangible for the Global Market.

From initial concept sketching in our Horsens studio to full-scale manufacturing support, Innovator Design ApS transforms complex technical requirements into elegant, market-ready physical products.

Selecting the Right Development Path

Product design is not a linear path. We help you choose a strategy based on your volume, material complexity, and time-to-market constraints.

Decision Criteria
  • Material Durability Requirements
  • Assembly Complexity & Costing

Agile Concepting

Best for startups and rapid innovation cycles. We focus on form studies, ergonomic testing, and functional CAD models to validate ideas before heavy investment.

Engineered for Human Interaction

At Innovator Design ApS, we believe a product's success is determined by how it feels in the hand and how it resolves a user's friction. We don't just design objects; we architect interactions.

Our team combines industrial engineering discipline with an artistic eye for materiality. We work closely with Danish manufacturers to ensure that every curve is not only beautiful but also manufacturable and sustainable.

The Development Signature

From Blueprint to Production Line

01

Deep Context Analysis

We begin by interrogating the problem. We study user behavior, market saturation, and regulatory constraints before a single line is drawn.

  • • Market Positioning
  • • User Personas
  • • Safety Standards
02

Iterative Prototyping

Physicality cannot be faked. We utilize 3D printing and CNC machining to create functional "look-alike, work-alike" models early in the cycle.

  • • Rapid Prototyping
  • • Ergonomic Testing
  • • Mechanism Validation
03

Manufacturing Handoff

Our work ends only when the factory has everything they need. We provide complete technical drawings and assembly instructions.

  • • DFM Optimization
  • • BOM Generation
  • • Supplier QA

Materiality as Strategy

In the Danish design tradition, the material is never an afterthought. Whether it’s the cold precision of anodized aluminum or the warmth of sustainable oak, the material dictates the form.

We collaborate with boutique workshops and industrial giants alike to push the boundaries of what these materials can do. Our product development process is a dialogue between the designer's intent and the physical limits of the forge, the loom, or the press.

Documented Capability

Our value is proven through the rigors of the studio, not empty statistics. We document every technical hurdle resolved during development.

Commercial Hardware

Office Technology

Precision Peripheral Interface

Handling heat dissipation challenges in compact housings while maintaining a seamless touch-interface across heterogeneous materials.

Seating Systems

Bespoke Furniture

Modular Seating System

Developing a patented cast-aluminum connector that allows for infinite reconfiguration without compromising structural integrity or visual weight.

Architectural Fittings

Architectural Hardware

Monolith Series Fittings

Exploring ultra-low-profile mounting systems for commercial hardware to achieve a flush, integrated aesthetic with standard door preparations.

Studio Capabilities

We offer a full-spectrum development suite, from the blue-sky ideation of a new brand to the brutal technical reality of toolroom drawings.

Concept & Ideation

Visualizing the future of your product line through ethnographic research and blue-sky sketching. We don't just ask what users want; we observe what they need.

Ideation Sketching

Rapid visual exploration of form, silhouette, and UX flow to establish the product's visual DNA.

Trend Synthesis

Aligning product aesthetics with global market shifts and long-term brand goals.

Industrial Engineering

Translating sketches into high-fidelity CAD data that satisfies the constraints of injection molding, casting, and assembly logic.

Mechanical Design

Complex assembly management, mechanism design, and kinematic analysis for moving parts.

Design for Manufacture

Optimizing wall thickness, draft angles, and part counts to reduce tooling costs and cycle times.

Validation & Prototyping

Bringing the digital to the physical. We maintain relationships with high-precision model shops to deliver showroom-ready functional samples.

Product Development FAQ

Do you handle international manufacturing?

While we prefer local Danish workshops for prototyping, our CAD data is exported to global industrial standards (STEP, IGES) compatible with toolmakers in the EU, Asia, and the Americas.

Who owns the intellectual property?

Unless otherwise negotiated, all IP generated during the project remains the sole property of the client upon final payment. We provide the complete design history and technical files.

What are your typical project minimums?

We engage in everything from single-component refinement to complete product line overhauls. We thrive on technical complexity regardless of part count.
